Is dry cleaning better than washing?

Organic Dry Cleaners in Westbury-every day is laundry

Dry Clean VS Home Washing

When it comes to maintaining our cherished garments, one often faces the dilemma of choosing between conventional washing methods and professional dry cleaning services. Both options have their merits, but which one prevails as the superior choice? In this article, we delve into the question, “Is dry cleaning better than washing?” to help you make an informed decision on how to care for your cherished wardrobe.

Dry cleaning is a specialized cleaning process that uses chemical solvents instead of water to clean fabrics. It is ideal for delicate and sensitive fabrics, such as silk, wool, and cashmere, which may shrink or lose shape in regular washing machines. Additionally, stubborn stains and intricate designs are better handled by professional dry cleaners, ensuring your garments look impeccable.

On the other hand, home washing machines offer the convenience of washing clothes at your leisure. They are suitable for everyday fabrics like cotton and synthetic blends and are cost-effective for regular use. However, they may not always yield the same impeccable results as dry cleaning, especially for delicate garments.

With advancements in technology, the introduction of home dry cleaning machines has attempted to bridge the gap between the two methods. Efficient home dry cleaning machine: Invest in an efficient home dry cleaning machine that will revolutionize your laundry routine. These machines claim to offer the efficiency of professional dry cleaning in the comfort of your home, potentially saving both time and money.

Wake-Up Calls We All Need to Receive in Life Before it’s Too Late

Best-Dry-Cleaner-In-Westbury-bedtime- stories

We’ve come a long way, and we’re still learning and growing. Let’s be thankful for the lessons. Let’s take them and make the best of things today.

We might not have tomorrow to say, “I love you.”

Our judgments of others are often inaccurate.

Not trying is why most people fail in life.

Patience does not mean waiting and doing nothing.

Patience is your willingness to accept and appreciate what you have right now,

While you gradually work hard for the dreams and goals that matter most to you.

We often don’t need anything more to be happy.

We aren’t perfect, and neither is anyone else.

All the little things make a big difference.

Excuses are mostly just lies.

1. Dry cleaning is a cleaning process that uses a special chemical solvent instead of water to remove dirt, stains, and odors from clothes and fabrics. The solvent is non-water-based and does not cause shrinkage or damage to the fabrics. The clothes are placed in a machine, and the solvent is circulated through the machine to clean the clothes, which are then dried and pressed.

2. Dry cleaning is a cleaning method for clothes using a special solvent (not water) to remove dirt and stains, without shrinking or damaging the fabric. The solvent is applied to the clothes, which are then tumbled in a machine. The process is called “dry” cleaning because water is not used.

What is Wet Dry Cleaning?

Wet cleaning is widely considered as next generation of traditional dry cleaning. It is a non-toxic, environmentally safe alternative to dry cleaning.

It utilizes computer-controlled washing machines, biodegradable soaps , and conditioners, and finishes the drying process by using special moisture-sensitive dryers.  Wet cleaning is not the same as laundry, and is perfect for use on any garment such as silk, cashmere, woolens, and other fine delicates.

Wet cleaning uses water, a universal solvent, and does not use hazardous chemicals, generate harmful wastes, or contribute to pollution.  For more information on wet cleaning, please visit the EPA’s website.

Dry Cleaning Tips for Taking Care of Your Summer Clothes – Third Blog

Dry Cleaning Tips for Taking Care of Your Summer Clothes - First Blog

If you look at the signboards or promotional materials of nearby laundry cleaning, they advertise their washing techniques with terms such as ‘wet cleaning’, ‘organic cleaning’, ‘aqua cleaning’, and ‘laundry wash’.

As I explained earlier, dry cleaning alone can be half-washed, so clothes that should only be dry cleaned are combined with washing with water.

In that sense, the term ‘two-way cleaning’ is also used in the sense of water washing and dry cleaning twice.

In fact, even in Joe’s Organic Dry Cleaners, especially in summer, for fresher clothes, both are combined, but the price is set at one time. We are doing our best to provide special service.

Let’s take a look at the basic meaning of ‘wet cleaning’.

Wet cleaning refers to a method of washing laundry that should originally be dry-cleaned with water without damaging the original form by using a neutral detergent in lukewarm water below 40℃, which is inevitable due to a large number of water-soluble stains.

Therefore, in terms of operation, there are cases where it is similar to low-temperature laundry, but the original meaning is not laundry to the end, but a special treatment using water.
In addition, there is a responsibility to finish it so that it does not look inferior to dry cleaning.

Whether or not to perform wet cleaning is also made according to the judgment of the person in charge of the treatment when there is a prospect of whether the clothes can withstand the treatment or can be restored even if the shape is distorted.

The important thing here is that since dry cleaning alone does not completely wash clothes, wash them in water within a range that does not deform the clothes.

For example, if clothes such as cotton or synthetic fiber coats, jackets, and padding for autumn and winter wear that require dry cleaning are heavily soiled, they cannot be cleaned unless they are washed in water. In such a case, since only half of the contaminated clothes cannot be handed out to the customer according to the washing indication, the laundry company judges and performs more difficult water washing in terms of time and technology.

It is not a difficult level of wet cleaning for clothes of that level, but with the current most outstanding wet cleaning technology, all clothes including leather and fur can be washed with water, and even after washing, the quality is higher than that of dry cleaning.

Excellent wet cleaning technology is an excellent detergent and chemical and skilled know-how of water washing.

For example, when we buy clothes right away at a department store, the clothes feel great, the color is great, and the shape is perfect.
However, through multiple washes, whether washed in water or dry-cleaned, the texture gradually deteriorates, the color darkens, and the shape gradually deteriorates.

Wouldn’t it be nice if every time you did dry cleaning, it felt like buying clothes for the first time?
Of course, it won’t be perfect, but if you wash clothes cleanly, effectively add various types of processing agents used when making clothes, and finish ironing well, there will be no more great dry cleaning with laundry.

What matters here is the processing agent and processing technology used to make the clothes.
