SYSTEM K4 Dry Cleaning

SystemK4 is a type of dry cleaning technology that uses a halogen-free solvent.

The name “K4” comes from the four components used in the cleaning process: solvents, detergents, cleaning boosters, and water.

The solvent used in SystemK4 is a Bio-based SOLVONK4 liquid that is non-toxic and biodegradable, making it environmentally friendly. It is also gentle on fabrics and colors and has a low odor.

SYSTEMK4 is an innovative procedure for cleaning textiles, leather, and furs for which we have applied for a worldwide patent. The heart of the procedure is SOLVONK4, a halogen-free, organic solvent with a purity of more than 99% and excellent cleaning performance. It has the same cleaning power as perchloroethylene which it even exceeds in some regards.

It is also a completely biodegradable organic solvent that does not require labeling and is not rated as a dangerous material or substance in Europe; it has also been dermatologically tested with a “very good” result.

In the SystemK4 dry cleaning process, garments are first inspected and sorted based on their fabric type and cleaning requirements. They are then pre-treated with detergents and cleaning boosters to help loosen dirt and stains.

Next, the garments are placed in the dry cleaning machine, which uses the K4 solvent to dissolve and remove any remaining dirt and stains. The solvent is then separated from the garments and recycled, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact.

Finally, the garments are finished and pressed to restore their shape and appearance.

Overall, SystemK4 dry cleaning offers a gentle, effective, and environmentally friendly way to clean a wide range of garments and fabrics.

The study’s findings are based on several case studies of seven patients suffering from the disease.

A team of international researchers pushes the United States government to ban Trichloroethylene as it causes Parkinson’s Disease. This chemical is widely used as a solvent for dry cleaning, paint removals, and machine and equipment cleanings.

“Tens of millions have been exposed to the chemical through the water they drink and the indoor air they breathe.,” University of Rochester Medical Center Neurologist and Author Ray Dorsey, MD stated. Along with Dorsey is an international team of researchers, including Ruth Schneider, MD, and Karl Kieburtz, MD.

With this, the University of Rochester Medical Center stated on its website that the authors call the United States government for ending the use of these chemicals. Two states already banned TCE but the federal government has still not despite these findings. Last year, EPA recently found that the chemicals pose “an unreasonable risk to human health.”

What is Wet Dry Cleaning?

What is Wet Cleaning?
Wet cleaning is widely considered as next generation of traditional dry cleaning. It is a non-toxic, environmentally safe alternative to dry cleaning.
It utilizes computer-controlled washing machines, biodegradable soaps , and conditioners, and finishes the drying process by using special moisture-sensitive dryers.  Wet cleaning is not the same as laundry, and is perfect for use on any garment such as silk, cashmere, woolens, and other fine delicates.
Wet cleaning uses water, a universal solvent, and does not use hazardous chemicals, generate harmful wastes, or contribute to pollution.  For more information on wet cleaning, please visit the EPA’s website.

Why Choose Wet Cleaning?
Traditional dry cleaners utilize perchloroethylene, a toxic solvent commonly known as “perc.” This chemical is used throughout many cycles of dry cleaning and can be very harmful to the environment if not disposed of properly. It is 1.5 times heavier than water and requires extreme temperatures to be completely removed from one’s clothing.
Dry Cleaners that generically advertise not using ‘greener,’ or natural’ solvents, are usually referring to one of the chemicals K4. Although less toxic than perc, these are chemicals normally found in gasoline for automobiles. Wet cleaning, on the other hand, uses NO CHEMICALS, and is different because it refers to a truly eco-friendly way of cleaning one’s garments and textiles. This method of cleaning is not only safe for the environment but to our bodies as well.
