A tailor must be able to operate a straightener, overlock machine, floss machine, and buttonhole machine. The tailor must also be able to smooth out wrinkles and remove chalk marks to prepare the finished garment for pickup.

Discuss design, modification, or repair requirements with customers to ensure customer specifications are met.
Use a tape measure to measure your client’s measurements.
